Chandra is a graduate of New York University and she got four years’ training at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Chandra has guest starred on the television shows “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “The Sopranos,” “Sex in the City” and “Third Watch.” She is most famous for her role of Dr. Miranda Bailey on the hit television drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” She has also appeared in national television commercials for Blockbuster Video, Burger King, Scope and The United Negro College Fund.
Her acting career finally takes off in 2005 when she was cast as a lead role on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. The show immediately became a hit, and Wilson was honored with an Emmy nomination in 2006 and a Screen Actors Guild Award (for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series in 2007.
